  2. We are able to carry out diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical faults, such as, engine warning light on, or airbag warning light on.
  3. We carry out all repairs on site, including clutch replacement, brakes, suspension and exhaust repairs.
  4. We will always discuss costs up front so you can make an informed decision, we will not carry out any unauthorised work

The Mini is an icon of classic British design, originally the brain child of, Sir Alec Issigonis. From 1959 through to the year 2000 the mini was produced originally under the Austin name and then later, Rover. However after 41 years what the Mini required was bringing up to date, times had changed and the Mini was about to follow..

 In step BMW, the BMW Mini was released in 2001 and can be found sporting the old type "Y" registration. The new Mini was an instant success and continues to be so, the new cars are more refined, safer, more reliable, produce less emissions, are packed with modern day luxuries such as, Air Con, Electric Windows, Remote Central Locking, CD Changers, the list goes on.

 BMW MINI have released several variations on the classic 3 door hatch the more popular of these are the Cooper S models, the Convertible models and the Clubman models. The new MINI model designation for the one and cooper is the R50. In 2006 BMW delivered a new MINI series with the model designation R56 for the base models, the R56 was redesigned from the ground up but still keeps the classic MINI proportions.

Oils We Use in your MINI

  • Castrol Edge 0w-30 BMW LL04
  • Castrol Edge 10w-60
  • Castrol Magnetec 10w-40 BMW LL01 ( For use in older models and also higher mileage engines where the service intervals are adjusted to suit. )

As well as using the BMW MINI Approved Genuine parts and Castrol BMW MINI approved engine oil, we also use Forte engine flushes in every service.

Engine oil is always drained when hot to ensure we get as much out as possible. The Oil filter will always be Genuine or O.E, we always replace the sump plug copper washer and the oil filter O-Ring seals.

We can Reset the Service lights in accordance to BMW MINI guide lines, correct service data if required, and complete the service book complete with our BMW MINI specialists stamp. All invoices supplied with show the vehicle details as well as a parts and labour breakdown so they are easy to follow and understand.

Oil service

Your engine oil and oil filter replacement is now due to for best performance and help maintain efficiency. Also the microfilter(s) should be replaced.

Spark plugs

Your spark plugs in your petrol engine should be replaced at every second oil service along with the air filter. NOTE- This icon may not be displayed on your dashboard.

Diesel particulate filter (DPF)

Your diesel particulate filter may be blocked or need replacing. Contact BM Automotive

Brake fluid

Your Brake Fluid should now be replaced to maintain optimum braking performance.

Front brakes

Your front brake pads getting close to the wear limit and need replacing. BM Automotive will also check the condition of your brake discs.

Rear brakes

Your rear brake pads are getting close to their wear limit and need replacing. BM Automotive will also check the condition of the rear discs.


Your microfilter/pollen filter should be replaced with every engine oil service. Note- This icon may not be displayed on your dashboard.


Your car is due the annual statutory inspection (MOT) for vehicles that are 3 years and older. Contact BM Automotive.
